On PS4, Derailed feels less like a routine mission and more like being dropped into the middle of a stunt sequence. First-person view makes the handlebars shake, gunfire sound close, and the canyon seem far tighter than it does from the usual camera. Players browsing GTA 5 Accounts may appreciate how much this chapter depends on Trevor and Michael's opposite instincts: Trevor charges ahead, while Michael tries to stop the whole job from falling apart.
A Plan Born in Sandy Shores
The trouble starts at Trevor's trailer, where Michael finds Patricia Madrazo still staying with him. That situation can't last. Michael needs money to settle things with Martin Madrazo and get Patricia safely home, so Trevor pitches an answer that sounds ridiculous at first: hit a Merryweather freight train. He believes it's carrying something worth a fortune. Michael knows Merryweather won't simply let it go, but he's out of comfortable options. The train job becomes their quickest shot at fixing a mess neither man created alone.
Getting Onto the Train
Trevor gets the loudest part of the mission. On a Maibatsu Sanchez, he tears along the tracks and lines up a jump from a dirt rise beside the railway. It's a short moment, though it can go wrong fast. Once he lands on the moving cars, the ride turns awkward and tense. The roofs aren't flat, the bike slides around, and the locomotive feels miles away. Reaching it lets Trevor take control and drive straight toward the collision point on Raton Canyon bridge.
Keep the Sanchez centred before the jump.
Ease off slightly when crossing uneven freight cars.
Watch the bridge approach instead of chasing speed.
Wreckage, Water, and Merryweather
Michael's side begins on the Alamo Sea in a Nagasaki Dinghy. He heads for the bridge just as Trevor sends the train into an oncoming locomotive. The impact throws engines and freight cars into the river below. Michael dives for the orange freight box, sets an explosive charge on its doors, then backs away before opening it. That's when Merryweather arrives in force. Michael has to hold the wreckage while Trevor searches inside, using a Minigun against boats and aircraft. Shooters positioned high on the bridge are another problem, and the thermal scope helps pick them out through the steel beams.
What the Job Leads To
Once Trevor finds the briefcase, both men rush downriver in the Dinghy, dodging rocks, drops, pursuing boats, and a Buzzard overhead. Ron has a BF Injection and Vapid Sadler waiting near the beach. Trevor gives Michael the case because it settles the Madrazo debt, but there's more behind it. Trevor sees Derailed as proof that the old crew could reunite with Lester and Franklin for the Union Depository job.
